Life Coaching FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions from life coaching clients

Q: What is life coaching?

A: It is a focused, targeted, thought-provoking, interactive, transformative, and results-oriented process designed to facilitate concrete positive changes in your life. Stacy Zemon helps you achieve your goals through powerful conversations that are intended to inspire new thinking, perceptions, and behaviors that actualize your potential (your unrealized ability, capacity, or possibility) and enhance your happiness and satisfaction. This includes leveraging your strengths, uncovering what’s in your way, and targeting the areas that most need to be addressed. You will receive the guidance, direction, feedback, knowledge, practices, and resources that support your ability to have a far greater quality of life.

Q: What topics can we discuss?

A: Sessions are individualized and can focus on relationships, job/career, finances, personal development, or any other areas of importance to you.

Q: What is Stacy’s approach to coaching?

A: Stacy uses a psychospiritual approach to coaching that calls upon a variety of powerful psychological and spiritual tools, techniques, and resources. Her style is honest, direct, authentic, encouraging, caring, compassionate, and holistic (taking into account your mind, body, and spirit). Coaching begins with an assessment of your needs, issues/challenges, and goals. Armed with this knowledge, Stacy asks you relevant questions and provides you with guidance, direction, feedback, and support as needed. She also utilizes powerful exercises, processes, and guided meditations. Between sessions, she assigns individualized homework for your continual progress. Stacy has seen many clients change in powerful ways. And they’ve likely had ambitions, goals, concerns, and challenges that are similar to yours. Coaching can be the catalyst to profoundly shift the trajectory of your life, enabling you to change the quality of your life and the direction of your career in ways you never dreamed of.

Q: What is the difference between life coaching and mental health counseling?

A: Counseling typically focuses on identifying a person’s core issues in order to identify the reasons for their feelings and behaviors and the most effective methods to address issues. Psychotherapists utilize a framework that is based on pathology and illness, with “understanding” as the primary objective. Coaching focuses on the present and future and a client’s specific desired goals. Stacy uses a psychospiritual approach to coaching that calls upon a variety of powerful psychological and spiritual tools, techniques, and resources. You’ll come away with increased self-awareness, clarity, confidence, courage, self-love, and the satisfaction that comes from the positive internal and external changes you experience. There are similarities in counseling and coaching as well. Both are concerned with making concrete changes in your emotional state and life, working to understand the self-limiting beliefs or behaviors caused by thoughts and emotions that you may or may not be aware of, and helping you grow, change, and master your emotions.

Q: How many life coaching sessions do I need?

A: That depends on a variety of factors, including your goal(s), your commitment and openness to change, your capacity for introspection and integration, how quickly and thoughtfully you complete homework assignments, and your unique life circumstances. While life coaching sessions are laser-focused, there is no way to tell in advance exactly how many you will need. Naturally, the more issues that need to be addressed, the more sessions will benefit you. After you select a life coaching package, if needed, you can always choose another or add one at a time. Once primary life coaching has concluded, you may find it useful to get a monthly “check-up” to help your life stay on course.

Q: How often will I meet with Stacy?

A: Life coaching sessions take place on mutually convenient dates and times and can be scheduled weekly, every two weeks, or monthly (your choice). Greater frequency yields the biggest returns in terms of change.

Q: How long is each life coaching session?

A: Life coaching sessions are 60 minutes long.

Q: If I am having a crisis, can I meet with Stacy sooner?

A: Yes, if she has availability in her schedule, you can meet with her prior to your next scheduled session.

Q: Where do life coaching sessions take place?

A: In order to make coaching as convenient as possible for you, life coaching sessions can be held in the comfort of your home. They can take place over the phone or on Zoom (recommended), where a video recording can be made and sent to you if desired.

Q: What outcomes can I expect from life coaching?

A: You’ll come away with increased self-awareness, clarity, confidence, courage, self-love, and the satisfaction that comes from the positive internal and external changes you experience. If you want to achieve swift, powerful results and are willing to do the necessary inner work, coaching with Stacy may be just the solution you’ve been looking for to create the life of your dreams!

Q: How do I prepare for coaching sessions?

A: It is best to have a list of specific topics you want to deal with and for us to address them in order of their importance to you. It is a good idea to spend some time before each session letting go of what is happening in your day, relaxing, and opening up. If you are so inclined, pray or meditate about the guidance you are seeking. It is important to arrive on time, or even a few minutes early. Be sure you are in a quiet place that is free from distractions.

Q: Can sessions be recorded?

A: Yes, if you request having them on Zoom and ask for them to be recorded. If you do so, Stacy will send you MP4 videos after each session through Dropbox. This is a free app you can download onto your laptop, PC, tablet, or mobile device. It is your responsibility to make sure that your webcam, microphone, and Internet connection are working properly. By requesting a recording of your life coaching be sent to you, you agree not to distribute, publish, transmit, modify, display, or create derivative works from it in any way.

Q: Is everything I discuss with her confidential?

A: Whatever is discussed during your life coaching is kept strictly confidential. Stacy will never use your name or any of the information you share with anyone without your express written permission.

Q: What are the payment options?

A: Life coaching is self-pay only. Your payment can be made with any major credit card or with a debit card.

Q: Is there anything else that is important for me to know?

A: Yes. Please read the Life Coaching Terms & Conditions to make sure you understand and agree with them before purchasing services.
